Compliance

Which provinces does Tiercord support?

Tiercord tracks the prompt-payment and adjudication frameworks of five provinces, and the Federal Prompt Payment for Construction Work Act for work on federal real property in any of them. 4 are in force: Ontario (Construction Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. C.30, in force Oct 2019); Alberta (Prompt Payment and Construction Lien Act, RSA 2000, c. P-26.4, in force Aug 2022); Saskatchewan (Builders' Lien Act (Prompt Payment Amendment), SS 1984-85-86, c. B-7.1 (am. SS 2019, c. 2), in force Mar 2022); Manitoba (The Builders' Liens Act, C.C.S.M. c. B91, in force Apr 2025). 1 are enacted and awaiting proclamation: British Columbia (Construction Prompt Payment Act, SBC 2025, c. 24). BC remains available with its pending status clearly marked; its prompt-payment dates are planning dates until commencement. Manitoba uses reviewed contract scope and owner-invoice dates.

Does Tiercord replace my accounting software?

It replaces the part of the job your accounting software was never built for, and syncs with the rest. Tiercord raises and receives invoices in both directions, records payments, costs them back to the job, tracks holdbacks and keeps the statutory deadline layer no accounting package carries. It syncs two ways with QuickBooks Online and Xero, so your bookkeeper keeps their ledger, their tax filing and their chart of accounts exactly where they are. Most firms run both: Tiercord for the job and the deadlines, the accounting package for the books.

Can I use Tiercord just for project management?

Yes. Projects, contracts, tasks, counterparties, invoices and payments are the spine of Tiercord and are on every plan, with two-way Procore sync and a Workspace Graph that maps every job, contract and dollar. During setup you tell us what your firm does and we switch off the parts you don't need, so a project-management workspace is not carrying a compliance product it never asked for. The deadline engine keeps running underneath either way, and we will still warn you if a date is about to cost you a right.

Where is my data stored?

Your workspace records and documents are stored in Supabase's Canada Central region, encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.3, and each tenant is isolated by Postgres row-level security. Application hosting, error monitoring, billing and the optional AI and accounting-integration features are run by processors that may handle information outside Canada. The privacy policy names each one under Storage and processing locations.

Is Tiercord legal advice?

No. Tiercord is software. It generates documents and tracks deadlines based on what you input. We recommend a consultation with a construction lawyer in your province before relying on Tiercord-generated documents in a live dispute.

What happens if I leave?
