Part 1

Start with the law that governs the project

Tiercord currently supports British Columbia, Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and federal projects. Each project carries its own governing law, source events and holiday calendar.

Provincial prompt payment is in force in Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Manitoba's framework took effect in April 2025 and uses a 7.5% basic holdback.

BC prompt payment remains pending commencement. Its modelled payment dates are labelled accordingly; current lien and holdback law applies separately. Read Where BC stands before relying on a BC date.

Federal real property has a separate regime. Select it together with the work province. The federal guide explains the provincial hand-off, source dates and counting rules.

Part 2

The project and the recorded facts work together

A project's province and governing law determine the rules Tiercord uses. Contract position, invoice receipt, upstream payment and notice evidence determine which of those rules apply to a particular record.

You can manage jobs in different jurisdictions in the same workspace. Review the legal reference and any missing-evidence or pending-commencement label beside a deadline. A saved draft or an imported balance is not, by itself, proof that a statutory clock has started.
